Alberta Men's Hockey League Summer Season


The AMHL is now accepting applications for the 2025 Summer Hockey Season!

We are the only league to guarantee no weekend games in summer and at a significantly less cost than other leagues! See below information for some new and exciting discounts and prizes for managers and teams:

2025 SUMMER SEASON TEAM APPLICATIONS

 

Team Fees 

The team fee is $5800.00 plus GST. The total with GST added is $6090.00

Custom Schedule - Day of the week

Teams may purchase a schedule option that will include at least half of your games played on the same day of the week. The fee for the day of the week schedule option is $400 (GST included). There is limited availability for each day of the week.

 

Discounts 

  • $100 discount if the deposit is paid by February 15.
  • Another $100 discount if the team fee is paid in full by May 1.
  • Division winners from last summer season will receive an additional $100 discount.

 

 ADDITIONAL DISCOUNTS & PRIZES!  

  • Teams that bring a new team to the league this summer and return next summer will receive a $500 discount once both teams have paid their deposit for the 2026 summer season.  
  • New teams to the league this summer will be entered for a chance to win a new set of team jerseys once their deposit is paid for the 2026 summer season.  
  • Winter teams that play in the 2025 summer season will receive a $200 discount for the 2025-2026 winter season if their deposit is paid on time.  
  • Summer team GM’s will be entered into a draw for a trip for two (2 nights / 3 days) to an NHL game for the 2025-2026 season if all team fees have been paid by May 1, 2025. 

 
All discounts are deducted from the total cost (with GST). 

 

 

Highlights of the summer season include: 

  • 16 regular season games plus playoffs (minimum of 2 playoff games guaranteed!) 
  • All teams advance to the playoffs. 
  • All games are 1.5 hours with a flood every two periods. 
  • Game days are Monday through Thursday. NO WEEKEND GAMES.  
  • All games schedule at arenas with showers.
  • The season will start on May 5 and finish around mid-August. 
  • Overtime format is 3-on-3 for 3 minutes. 
  • Team fees include player accident insurance through CARHA. 

 

Game Times and Arenas 

Most start times are between 6:30 PM and 9:45 PM - Monday to Thursday. 
There will be some games that start at 10:00, 10:15 or 10:30 but each team will have only one or two of these start times throughout the regular season. 
No weekend games. We do our best to accommodate scheduling requests and north or south arena preferences at no extra cost. 

Summer Arenas include:

Bill Hunter, Callingwood, Castledowns, Clareview, Grand Trunk, Kenilworth, Kinsmen, Londonderry, Millwoods, Terwillegar, The Meadows. 

 

Payment Schedule 

Upon registration: 

Pay your $1000 deposit to secure your spot. 

February 15

Deposit is due to receive a $100 discount

April 1

$2000 payment is due. 

May 1:

$2000 payment is due. Balance of team fees are due to receive a $100 discount

June 1

Balance of team fees due if not paid by May 1. 

 Payment Method: 

  • The preferred method of payment is Interac Email Transfer (send to amhl@shaw.ca). 
  • Cheque, credit card, bank draft, money order and cash are also accepted. 
  • Please call the League Office at 780-249-5665 to make arrangements. 

 Receipts will be emailed upon request to the team representative once a payment is received. 

  

 

Team Roster


Teams may register up to 30 players. 

Team managers for all teams participating in the summer season will receive an email from the League administration in April with instructions for player registration. The registration deadline for the summer season is June 1 and all players must register before they play their first game or by June1, whichever comes first. 

 

Need players? 
We are compiling a list of individual players who are looking for a team to play on. If you need players to fill your roster, please request the list of available players by emailing amhl@shaw.ca or calling 780-249-5665.  The list of available players will only be given to team representatives after the deposit has been received. Please contact the league office if you have any questions.
